The word "mandala" is from the classical Indian language of Sanskrit. Translated to “containing” or “circle completion", It represents wholeness, and can be seen as a model for the organizational structure of life itself--a cosmic diagram that reminds us of our relation to the infinite, the world that extends both beyond and within our bodies and minds. The mandala appears in all aspects of life: the celestial circles we call earth, sun, and moon, as well as conceptual circles of friends, family, and community. In various spiritual traditions, mandalas may be employed for focusing attention as an aid to meditation and for establishing a sacred space.
Made of hand torch fused, hammered fine silver and the Miyuki glass cubes are hand wrapped in gold filled wire. They have a wonderful matte metallic sheen which plays off of the silver and gold beautifully. The circles dance and play as they dangle from your ears. They may appear heavy, but are not.
